Isaiah 30:15-16, “For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning [to Me] and resting [in Me] you shall be saved; in quietness and in [trusting] confidence shall be your strength. But you would not. And you said, 'No! We will speed [our own course] on horses! Therefore you will speed [in flight from your enemies]! You said, We will ride upon swift steeds [doing our own way]! Therefore will they who pursue you be swift, [so swift that] “– (Amplified Bible)
"Your salvation requires you to turn back to me and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves. Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on me— The very thing you've been unwilling to do. You've said, 'Nothing doing! We'll rush off on horseback!' You'll rush off, all right! Just not far enough! You've said, 'We'll ride off on fast horses!' Do you think your pursuers ride old nags? Think again: A thousand of you will scatter before one attacker.” - (The Message)
We only have one life to live, so LET US LIVE TO THE FULLEST!– a very powerful well-known statement that has motivated most of the people to achieve their goals. All people, young and old, men and women, you and I, are desperately longing to have such a 'great, happy life'. That is why when we were kids, we love the words 'live happily ever after' in every ends of fairy tales, don't we? However, there are lots of ways with which people might be able to interpret the above statement. Some group of people would believe that living life to the fullest means getting wealth and riches as much as possible. Some other believed that life can be meaningful by being famous and acknowledged by all people all around the world. The other believed that if he had just a happy family, ordinary house, enough food, fine clothes, then life is already meaningful. And there is another group of people who thought that they would have lived to the fullest if they could be the best of all people in the world academically or financially. Later, came another group who thought that life must be lived to the fullest by having fun all the time. They went to party after parties. They hang out, played around, and tried to “enjoy life” as long as they still had breath. Are these interpretations all wrong? Or right? Or some wrong, some right?
We have been trying and working – trying to survive this difficult life in which we are living. We have been trying to find love, acceptance, and acknowledgments from people. We never want to be rejected or despised. That is actually the main driver of most of the people in the world, no matter what their professions are. And the driver does work. It does make people wealthy, successful, famous, and attractive. Their goals are achieved and their dreams are reached. People applauded praised them, just as what they desired. Have they actually had their meaningful life? Is their life perfect already, compared to the other people's?
Unfortunately, no. The devil has been smart enough in twisting the truth. And again, his purposes are only to steal, kill, and destroy. Suicides, murders, depression, madness – all is caused by the realization that nothing can actually make people's life meaningful and perfect. Suicides are not always done by the poor people, but also the wealthy, famous people whom people think have had a perfect life. Some are done because they have lost hopes of reaching their ideal of a 'perfect life', and so they thought there would be no use for them to live anymore. However suicides can also be done because they finally realized that money, fame, anything the world offered, cannot fill the emptiness in their heart – again, they lost hopes. However, do not be mistaken. There are also people who did not do suicides, nor be mad nor depressed. They seemed fine to the end of their life. However, that does not always mean they have had a meaningful life. There is the eternal life which will show and determine everything. Heaven and hell are truly real.
At last, what is actually a meaningful life?
The only way to have a meaningful life is by going back to our life's Creator and asking Him to take control of our life. Our life's purpose is only one, worshipping Him. We were made only to worship Him and declare His goodness all throughout the earth. And when we have done that, we will definitely have the greatest life ever! The time will soon come, when we must face the Almighty One on His glorious throne, and He will ask, “What have you done with the life I am giving?”
Isaiah 30:15-16 explained everything I wrote before. Yes, it is true that we all have many ambitions and dreams. However, please, would you put aside all your ambitions first and asked God to put His desires in your heart?
Do not use our own ways to make us have a happy life and be saved from this terribly difficult life. His ways are far better than ours. He knows us more than we know ourselves. He is the Alpha and Omega. He knows our beginning and has created our beautiful ending. He sees us ten years ago and knows what we would become ten years from now. He loves us more than we love ourselves. His wisdom is higher than heavens. His hand is victorious and powerful. He is the Lord of lords and King of kings. Who can be compared with Him?
Even so, He is tender and full of love. He desires to give hopes and salvations to all people. He desires to make our life meaningful and great. He does not only give wealth and honor to us, but He desires to give HIMSELF to be our most precious treasure. He, with all His love, glory, and wisdom, wants to be inside of you and guard your life, so you will never lack anything.
God's one blow can turn around all our hopeless situations. His one touch can make the blind see, the deaf hears, and the crippled runs. He can heal broken relationship, downhearted souls, and broken spirits. He has the power to resurrect dead dreams, and even the collapsed businesses. He will wipe your tears and give you joyful laughters instead. He will give you the perfect joy instead of mere happiness. He desires to lift you up and make you glorious. He can cause kings stand at attention when you pass by and the princes bow low. He has comfort for you in the time of mourning. He has wisdom for you in the time of uncertainty. He has peace for you in the midst of storm.
However, He can do all those things for us if we are willing to give ALL the control to Him. Yes, ALL. Make Him the King of your life to Whom you will always submit and obey. Let us all die from all our selfish ambitions. Let our flesh die, and we all will see HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD.
Let us all come to God, the only Source of Life. Let us wait on Him and look for Him. Have a beautiful relationship with Him and let Him guide you wherever you go. Have the hunger to know God more than anything. Let us sing love songs to Him every morning, listen to His voice and taste His goodness. Have the desire to desire what God desires, feel like God feels, see like how God sees, think what God thinks, and do what God does. God will never cast away anybody who is hungry and thirsty for Him. Turn your eyes, and see, He has always been there, opening His hands and smiling, calling and waiting you to be back to His embrace. Let us all begin to have THE HAPPIEST AND MOST MEANINGFUL LIFE EVER!
